Gone for a Soldier

This volume contains a history of the Civil War in Albany Township, written from newspaper accounts, letters, military papers, and other documents.  A few people are highlighted in brief biographies: George Graff, Dr. Israel Madden, Aaron Greenawalt, Samuel Nester, Jonas Johnson, William Flammer, and Charles Dietz. Also included is a list of Civil War veterans buried in Albany Township.

Christopher/Stoffel Long – Albany Township Gunmaker & Related Craftsmen

An exploration of the life and art of Stoffel Long, a gunmaker working in Albany Township from @ 1830 until his death in 1858.  Associated gunmakers and craftsmen discussed: Adam Ebert, Henry Christ, Daniel Christ, John Wagonhorst, and John Schollenberger.  Also included is an overview of the history of the longrifle.
